Due to the impact of adverse weather, this scheme has been extended.

Traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Saturday 28th September.

SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS ON TWO A96 ROUNDABOUTS AT BLACKBURN IN ABERDEENSHIRE BEGIN MONDAY 26TH AUGUST

Amey is undertaking a £780,000 project delivering surface improvements at the Clinterty and Kinellar Roundabouts on the A96 at Blackburn in Aberdeenshire.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will see overnight resurfacing carried out on the circulatory carriageways and approaches at each roundabout between Monday 26th August and Friday 20th September.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using overnight eastbound closures of the A96 from 7.30pm until 6.30am each night, between Monday 26th August and Thursday 5th September, and overnight westbound closures between Sunday 8th and Monday 16th September.

A diversion will be in place during the closures. Eastbound traffic will leave the A96 at Kintore, following the B977 to Dunecht then turning left onto the A944 towards Westhill and continuing to join the A90 AWPR towards Dyce and rejoin the A96 at Craibstone.

Westbound traffic will leave the A96 at Craibstone Roundabout, taking the first exit to join the A90 southbound before turning right onto the A944 at Kingsford and continuing to Dunecht and turning right onto the B977 north to rejoin the A96 at Kintore.

There will also be the need to install daytime lane closures on occasion during the work period to facilitate the cooling of deeper sections of treatment.

There will be no works on each Friday and Saturday night during the work period, Friday 30th/Saturday 31st August, Friday 6th/Saturday 7th September, and Friday 13th/Saturday 14th September.

Tuesday 17th to Thursday 19th September are contingencies and there will be further communications issued should these be required. All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Friday 20th September.

Work will be undertaken on one roundabout at a time, with the other providing access to and from Blackburn and B979 Hatton of Fintray via the diversion.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
