Update on permanent repair plans for A90 Glencarse Overbridge

The final stages of the procurement process are underway

A90 GLENCARSE OVERBRIDGE – PERMANENT REPAIRS

Amey can confirm that they are in the final stages of a procurement process to obtain the specialist resources required to carry out the permanent repairs to Glencarse overbridge on the A90.

To allow the damaged steel structural beam to be cut out and replaced along with other associated components, the bridge will first require to be temporarily propped. To minimise further disruption to road users and the local community, during the repair works, Amey will take the opportunity to carry out additional maintenance of the bridge which would have been required to be carried out in due course.

Subject to the outcome of the current tender process, works are expected to be mobilised in September and are anticipated to take in the region of eight weeks. During this time, to ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, temporary traffic management arrangements will be put in place. The overbridge will remain open and continue to operate under temporary traffic lights.

An Amey spokesperson said, “We are pleased to be in the final stages of preparation to begin work to carry out the permanent repairs on the A90 Glencarse Overbridge after it was damaged last year. Amey appreciates the effects of this disruption on the local community and thank them for their patience.”

Amey will continue to provide further updates about any potential disruption to road users and the general public as a result of the works to be carried out on the A90 Glencarse Overbridge.
