EMERGENCY RESURFACING OF A92 AT BRIDGE OF MUCHALLS TO TAKE PLACE OVER NEXT TWO NIGHTS

Emergency resurfacing of the damaged section of the A92 at Bridge of Muchalls is set to take place over the next two nights in order to reopen the road to traffic.

The road remains closed in both directions following a road traffic collision which resulted in a significant fuel spillage affecting both northbound and southbound carriageways.

Assessments have determined that the spillage has penetrated the road surface causing significant deterioration.

Repair works are commencing tonight (Tuesday 2nd May) to resurface lane one of both the northbound and southbound carriageways.

If the works progress as scheduled this will allow the reopening of one lane in each direction tomorrow morning (Wednesday 3rd May).

Further works will then be undertaken tomorrow night to resurface lane two of the northbound and southbound carriageways. This should allow the road to be fully reopened on the morning of Thursday 4th May.

Road users are encouraged to leave additional time for journeys through this area until the resurfacing works can be completed.

A diversion is in place but delays are anticipated.

Northbound traffic can exit the A92 by leaving at the slip road at Cowie Park, taking the third exit at the roundabout onto the A90 AWPR.

Traffic can then continue on the A90 until the roundabout at the A956 junction, taking the second exit onto the A956.

The diversion continues on the A956, allowing traffic to re-join the A92 northbound at Charleston Junction. The southbound diversion follows the same route but in reverse.
