Emergency repair work on A92 at Bridge of Muchalls completed on schedule

Repair works to A92 road surface damaged by fuel spillage

Emergency resurfacing works have been completed as planned to a damaged section of the A92 at Bridge of Muchalls on the morning of Thursday 4th May.

The A92 at Bridge of Muchalls was closed in both directions after a road traffic collision resulted in a fuel spillage on Monday 1st May.

Despite efforts to cleanse the area, the extent of the fuel spillage meant that it was not possible to safely reopen the road. Further assessments determined that the fuel spillage had penetrated the road surface causing significant deterioration.

Emergency work was undertaken overnight on Tuesday 2nd May to reopen one lane 1 to traffic travelling in both directions on the morning of Wednesday 3rd May.

Further repair work was undertaken overnight on Wednesday 3rd May to get the road fully reopen to traffic the following morning.

Amey would like to thank road users for their patience whilst these essential emergency works have been progressed.
