AMEY STAFF NOMINATE CHILDREN’S CHARITY CHAS FOR COMMUNITY FUND DONATION

Kinross-based children’s charity CHAS has received a £250 donation from transport infrastructure company Amey who look after the north east trunk road network.

CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) is the only charity in Scotland that provides hospice services for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

The national charity offers palliative care and respite for the whole family via its two hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch.

Amey runs a quarterly Community Fund where staff members nominate charities, not-for-profit groups or educational bodies in north east Scotland, where Amey operates, to receive financial help. CHAS were one of the charities put forward by staff.

Amey’s Community and Communications Manager Jessica Masterton said: “Amey’s goal is to create better places to live, work and travel by giving back to the areas and communities where we work.

“Through asking staff to nominate local causes that are close to their hearts, this initiative allows both our staff and Amey as a wider company to make a real difference within their communities.

“We were delighted to make a donation to CHAS which we hope will help them continue the great work they already do.”

CHAS Community Fundraiser Lyndsay Stobie said: “We are so grateful to Amey for their support and would like to say a special thank you to the employees who nominated CHAS to receive this funding.

“All funds donated go towards helping CHAS continue its work supporting children with life-shortening conditions and their families right across Scotland.”
